MAN strengthens presence in Libya with appointment of Libya Motors Company
MAN Truck & Bus has appointed Libya Motors Company (LMC) as its official importer for the State of Libya, strengthening the company’s sales, service and aftersales presence in the market.
The partnership was officially signed on 17 September 2026 during IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 in Hannover, Germany, at the MAN stand.
The appointment brings together MAN’s expertise in commercial vehicles and transport solutions with Libya Motors Company’s strong local presence, automotive experience and established customer network.
Strong local partner for MAN customers
Founded in 1997, Libya Motors Company is part of Muttawa Group, a family-owned Libyan business with more than 60 years of experience in the automotive sector.
Based in Tripoli, LMC operates four full 3S facilities and one showroom, providing an established infrastructure for vehicle sales, service and aftersales support. The company has extensive experience across the automotive sector and serves both business and private customers throughout the Libyan market.
As MAN’s official importer, Libya Motors Company will be responsible for the sales and distribution of MAN trucks, buses and coaches in Libya, as well as authorized service and aftersales operations.
This will provide MAN customers with a dedicated local point of contact throughout the vehicle lifecycle, from selecting the right vehicle and transport solution to professional maintenance, genuine parts and aftersales support.
